lntroduction to Buddhism and Meditation,
continued

    Tuesdays: January 2 to Febrary 6, 2001
    7:00pm-8:30pm

Building on the previous three sections, this course will cover the meditations of the Initial and Middle scope of the Lam Rim, the incremental path to the furthest reaches of our potential for enlightenment. These analytic meditations help us work with negative, limiting emotions and help us develop the life-enriching qualities of compassion and wisdom. They are very practical and effective tools for transforming our minds.

We'll also introduce you to some of the visualization practices you will encounter in other DFF classes and we'll continue to develop a practice of calm abiding meditation.

Section E will be taught be Venerable Chodron who will be returning from a one month personal retreat in early January. Do not miss these classes...it is unusual for Venerable to teach this specifically for newer students. Jesse Fenton, director of DFF, will lead Section D.

If you missed the first sections, you're welcome to jump in mid-course. If you'd like to catch up in that case, we recommend reading Open Heart Clear Mind by Thubten Chodron, available at Dharma Friendship Center or through your local bookstore.
